Major Grant Award

The Vicar and Churchwardens are delighted to announce that St Alban’s PCC has been awarded a grant of up to £222,000 from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Made possible by money raised by National Lottery players, this grant will provide 43% of the £518,000 need to complete the renewal of the church roof, carry out repairs to the high-level walls and windows, and adapt the ‘cloister’ entrance to provide improved step-free access compliant with the Equality Act.
The work on the building will start in March and should be completed in October. It will involve scaffolding around the whole church, which will be open for services and other events as usual during the work.
