Improved Step-free Access: November 2020

In mid-November the cable trench for the lamps to light the path from the street to the cloister entrance was being prepared.

By the 19th of Novamber the concrete pads for the lamp posts had been cast and the trench backfilled.

And by the 25th of November the first of the lamp posts had been erected.

The outer dorway of the cloister lobby has been widened ready for the new, wider wheelchair-friendly door to replace the old door once the mortar had hrdened.

Inside the lobby, another stone had been added to the doorway into the church.

The contrast between the new jamb stone and the eroded pillar base beside it persuaded us that we should spend extra to renew the pillar bases as well.

On the 27th of November the new outer door was in place, awaiting the addition of manifests to the glass.
